El Cajon, CA Pool Inspected for Damaged Laminate Tiling

Swimming Pool Inspection Services was called out to inspect an inground swimming pool in El Cajon, CA to determine if a leak was causing the laminate to peel up from the concrete patio in the pool area. After a thorough inspection it was determined that the pool did not have a leak.

One of our experienced swimming pool inspectors visited the property and spoke with the homeowner who was concerned that the laminate was coming loose because of a leak in the swimming pool.

El Cajon, CA Swimming Pool Observations and Analysis

Our inspector performed a thorough assessment on the pool and patio area and made the following observations:

  • The pool was full and there were no obvious signs of a leak.
  • The pump, filter and heater were in good working order and not leaking.
  • There was a crack in the skimmer above water line level.
  • There was grout missing on the spa wall corner.
  • The plaster was spalling (flaking/peeling).
  • Two rebar spots looked like someone had attempted an incorrect repair.

In addition, our inspector noted that there were no rain gutters on the roof of the patio room and the dirt on the ground was wet from a previous rain.

Damage to El Cajon, CA Pool Not Caused by Leak

After performing a thorough inspection on the swimming pool, including a 24-hour static leak detection test, it was determined that the swimming pool was not losing water from anything other than evaporation.
